Ruby Wedding Celebration raises funds for Finlieve
Jun 8 2011

Congratulations to Catherine and Stephen (pictured above 5th & 6th from the left) who recently celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary.  Catherine's brother, Christopher (pictured on far right) lives at Mourne Grange and, instead of receiving presents, the couple kindly asked family and friends to consider making donations towards our Finlieve Appeal and ended up raising a grand total of £220!

On behalf of everyone at Mourne Grange we want to say a huge thank you to Catherine and Stephen and all their family and friends for their kindness, generosity and support.

MOURNE GRANGE APPEAL FOR FINLIEVE
Jun 7 2011

If you walk into Finlieve on any weekday you will find a hive of activity.  Michael greasing the tins in the bakery, Ned kneading the dough and Pauline keeping everyone's spirits up with her radiant smile.  In the laundry you will see Hilary proudly ironing, Ian pressing the sheets and Caroline sorting the clothes into tidy piles.  Upstairs there's a Toddler Group and classrooms for the Village School; downstairs there is a workshop devoted to 'Tools for Solidarity' - here Conor and James repair tools and send them to communities in Africa.  So the influence of Finlieve is not just felt locally but across the world too!

We need your help to continue this wonderful work.  It brings joy and purpose in life to so many but, unfortunately, Finlieve itself was not designed for this purpose.  If it is to continue serving the Community it must be brought up to the standards required today.  It needs an expanded lobby and communal space, new doors and windows, indoor toilets, a ramp for wheelchairs, more storage and a school extension (quite a list!).

Our Community has been working hard, alongside our Fundraising Officer Maria, and our Friends to raise the money needed and so far we have raised £161,000.  This is wonderful but we still have some way to go to raise the £230,000 needed.

If you would like to support this vital project by making a donation or by helping us to fundraise, we would be so grateful for your kindness and support.

If you would like to make a donation/find out more about how you can help please contact our Fundraising Officer, Maria Kinney, on 028 9076 8741 / E: maria@cctni.co.uk .  Thank you.
